Engagement Groups
and Special Interest Groups

Groups express the life and soul of Unitarian community. Some groups are primarily for developing our spiritual depth and some are more for bringing us together for enjoyment.


Deepening Our Spirituality

Groups for spiritual growth that meet monthly:

Around the piano at GGU.

  • circle dancing (third Fridays in the month)

  • meditation (1.15 for 1.30pm start, till 2.30pm, first and third Wednesdays) A variety of meditations inspired by Hindu and Buddhist sources, including: chanting; breathing; and walking meditations.
  • Bible Reading and Reflection. Currently studying St. Luke's Gospel, (third Mondays in the month). You don't need to be a Christian to value it.

  • Spirituality Discussion Group (second Wednesdays in the month at 7.30pm)13th June: Assisted Dying - when and with what safeguards should it be lawful, if at all? Discussion will follow through after the Sunday service on this theme on 10th June.
    11th July: How do we decide what, spiritually, we believe? Reason, yes. What else?

    Life and Fun

  • poetry and prose sharing
    (second Mondays in the month)Bring a reading or two to share - light or serious as you wish.

  • monthly 'freedom in fellowship' suppers, starting with contemplation and reflection on a set theme
    (fourth Wednesdays in the month at 7.30pm)
